Itinerary Assistance

Need help researching and planning your travel itinerary? I can help!

I can provide you with itinerary advice, recommendations, and tips for the destinations that I have traveled to recently.

I have traveled to Mexico (Mayan Riviera and Yucatan) four times now (staying in both hostels and all inclusive resorts), and am returning for a fifth time this fall to explore further and deeper. I have also traveled to San Francisco, California once (staying at an Airbnb apartment rental) and I spent six days exploring many of the main attractions there.

My travel style includes traveling on a budget, traveling slowly, independently, solo and finding off the beaten path, lesser known places within my destination. I enjoy living like a local when traveling, meaning that I use local transportation, eat where the locals eat, support local businesses and restaurants, and sleep at locally owned hostels/guesthouses/Airbnbs.

Please provide me with the following:

  • Rough itinerary (for travels of two weeks or less) or where you want to go and what you want to see, how much time you have and what your budget is.
  • Your travel interests (are you interested in Mayan ruins, cultural experiences, cenotes, historical places, jungles, colonial cities and towns, authentic local villages, beaches, beautiful lakes, hiking, nature, biking, exploring residential neighbourhoods, living like a local, visiting local markets, zip lining, adventure, etc.)
  • Your travel style (off the beaten path or the main tourist attractions, all inclusive/luxury or budget travel, solo or friends/family, independent or organized group tours, slow-paced travel or hitting all the main attractions, etc.)
  •  Your preferred accommodations (Airbnb apartment rentals, all inclusive resorts, hostels, guesthouses, hotels, Couchsurfing, homestay, etc.)

If you’re interesting in getting some itinerary advice, please send me an email at brittanymariathiessen (at) gmail (dot) com.

Quick itinerary inquiries are free. Trips that are longer, more complicated and need more tweaking will have a fee attached.

Thanks so much 🙂

Hi. Love your blog. 10 of us (5 adults-5 teens) are heading from Cancun airport to Valladolid on Dec 27 for 3 nights. We have 2 1/2 days (plus the night of 27). We want to visit Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, some cenotes, music, shopping, cultural activities, markets, interesting activities (chocolate making?). Having a cold beer at an interesting spot would be fun. On the last day we want to go grocery shopping before head to the beach. Any suggestions on an itinary? We are staying right near the main square. Thank you. Kelly.
